Hot Crockpot Meals for Cold Days
I love using my crock pot because not only does it make delicious meals, but I also do not need to stand around the kitchen all day in order to make a hearty dish. We were preparing to go trick or treating and when I woke up this morning I wanted to make sure that we had something nice and delicious to come home to. It was so cold outside by the time we got back, we must have been gone for a couple of hours! Waiting for us was a delicious recipe that I got fro bhg, its for Italian roast dinner, it was sooooo yummy! this is a keeper and will make this more often.
Ingredients
1 3-pound boneless beef chuck pot roast
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon fennel seed, toasted and crushed
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 medium fennel bulbs, trimmed, cored, and cut into thin wedges
3 medium carrots, halved lengthwise and bias-sliced in 2-inch lengths (1-1/2 cups)
1 large onion, cut into thin wedges (1 cup)
1 26-ounce jar pasta sauce
2 to 3 cups hot cooked penne pasta
1/4 cup chopped fresh Italian (flat-leaf) parsley
Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Directions
1. Trim fat from roast. In a small bowl, combine garlic salt, fennel seed, and pepper; rub into roast on all sides. In a 5- or 6-quart slow cooker, combine fennel, carrot, and onion. Place roast on top. Pour pasta sauce over roast in cooker.
2. Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 9 to 10 hours or on high-heat setting for 4-1/2 to 5 hours.
3. Reserve one-third of the roast and 2 cups of the sauce; store as directed below. Toss pasta with parsley. Serve remaining roast and sauce over hot pasta mixture. If desired, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Makes 4 servings and reserves.
To store reserves: Chop reserved roast (about 2 cups). Place beef and reserved sauce in separate airtight containers. Seal and chill for up to 3 days

Bed Bugs Infestation

For some time now, NY and I am sure other places have been complaining at the amount of bed bugs that are everywhere. I know that a Abercrombie and Victoria Secret store has been shut down due to infestation. My friend, who lives close by, told me that they had to get new mattresses because they have bed bugs. I recall her having these what looked like mosquito bites but then she saw one of the bugs and realized what it was.
I refuse to go to her home, which I usually do every other day, because of this.I can not risk putting my family in harms way because they can latch on to your clothing and next thing you know, ba, we have them here, I would freak out! But you can also get them from just about anywhere,company can come to your home and bring them in, public transportation is very common. She plans on getting rid of them herself with natural remedies but her husband wants to call an exterminator, yikes.

Uggs with Style
I remember some time back when I first started seeing girls wearing these kind of boots and i was wondering what the heck is that? It was weird looking to me, but then I found myself needing a pair in my life. I nowhave 3 pairs of ugg boots and I love them, they do look cute and basically are made for just about anyone. You can wear them and look stylish and cute. I have seen people wear them in the warm weather with shorts, or in the winter with jeans and a heavy cot, it really is all around weather wear and everyone need at least one pair, trust me, you will wonder how did you not ever get one before.

Breadwinner Wives

Is it okay for the wife to be the sole money maker in the relationship? In a marriage, people often view the husband should be the one making the money or making the most. I know many moms who are the ones making the money while the husband stay home and watch the kids or do what the wife would do. I see nothing wrong with that as long as both parties are happy with their roles, but many will disagree. Either way, the kids are being take care of, bills are getting paid, so who's business is it who is working and who is not?

Fat Burners
I have had my fair share of products that are supposed to suppress appetite, burn fat and so on. And I can not lie, many of the work. If I can find something that works ultra effective where I can see results immediately, even better. When I came across lipofuze reviews,I was impressed by what I read, some say that you can actually burn 5 to 10 pounds of fat per WEEK. of course with anything that you take, you need to eat responsibly, but I still think this is something I am going to try and see for myself, sounds good.

Halloween on a Budget
You can still have a great time trick or treating with the kiddies and have a little party all on a budget. Every year we throw a little party for the kids in the neighborhood and have an awesome good time, but it can be a little costly with the decor and foods. This year I am doing things a little differently, we are making our ow decorations as opposed to buying them and making our treat and goodies from home. We can make our own halloween scary cookies with the cut outs and make some awesome scary spooky cupcakes. I am still planning my menu as I type this so there is more to come on how I pull off my halloween on a budget.

Education is the Key

I will always tell people that getting a education is so important because it really does help when potentially getting hired for work. I tell the young kids stay in school because it is much easier than dropping out and getting it later on. You can even get a good paying tech jobs and many more. The more educated you are, the more opportunities. I am snot saying that you can not get a decent paying job with no education because you can, but the choices are ore with one.

Cutting Groceries Cost
I used to be one of those people where I would shop for anything,no realist to go on and if I did, rarely followed it. I used to spend hundred of dollars per month to feed my family. Half the time I came from shopping and wondered what the heck did I buy? SO Lately I have decided to make a list and stick to it! Meal Planning is the key.I sit and research some recipes based on what I have at home and get ideas of what I can make and what I need to get in order to make it. This makes things so much easier. I buy the necessities,meats and sides,things like that. Make a meal planner and shop, that's is it and with that method, I cut y groceries in more than half and still have enough food to feed for to whole weeks. I have started back bulk cooking and taking it slowly, but doing it.

Can you Afford to Work from Home?
I had a chat with a friend today and she is deciding to give up her job to stay home and work from home while also taking care of the kids and everything else. I love working from home and would not go back but I always tell people the truth that it is hard especially when you first start out. You are giving up a steady income for the time being and taking a new role of super woman. I am lucky that things have worked out for us and I can make over $1000+ from home and be comfortable. We are learning to spend less live with in our means which means to cut alot of things we do not need and shop sensibly. Make a sheet of all the cons and pros and see if you can afford it, it is best to find some type of work first before taking that leap and make sure it is legit!

Love My iPod
I love my ipod and I honestly do not know how everyone do not own one. There are many great uses for the ipods, I use it when I am working out as it really helps to motivate me to stay on that treadmill longer or whatever I am doing. Those long rides on the bus or road trips, I love knowing I have my fave music in rotation and so much of it too. It also makes a great gift for anyone, any age.

Insurance In NYC

I love how easy it is to get auto insurance because, well, you need it of course. I also get jealous knowing how much my family members in other states pay but Every where has their own pricing depending place to place. I get that since I live in NY it is going to be super high but the rates of something happening is also high so I understand, we have had a couple of things happen and always say thank goodness for us having auto insurance.

pack of 6 bagels, store brand, $1
1 can of pasta sauce, store brand $1
Bag of shredded Mozzarella $1.30
Cut open bagels in half, spread sauce on each one and top with cheese and bake for 15 to 20 min and that's it! Super easy and super yummy. Makes 12 servings and you can save the leftovers for another day.

Start Xmas Shopping
As soon as possible if you can. Start looking for deals which are starting to appear online and in stores. If you decide to wait until December, it may become harder and stressful to do so, but if its a must, start putting money away each week from now so that way you can have ore than enough to shop for your friends and loved ones.

It is hard to watch this video and not get teary-eyed! The football team let him score touch down even though he suffers form down syndrome, he does not let it stop him, watch as the opposing team misses and let him score, you have to watch it at least twice, truly wonderful.

Need Moving Help?

We have moved a couple of times and I can honestly say that it is not something that many enjoy doing. I remember making the move to college and getting all my stuff to and from was a hassle especially since I did most of it on my own. Depending on where you are moving, getting the proper hep should always be something to look into to make the transition good, if you live in the Texas are then you must consider bellaire texas where the professionals are there to hep you. I wish that I had a service such as this one to help me back then.

Vreaders are Awesome
So I was in the toy shop today looking around to see what I can get the kids in my family for the holidays and I noticed how great and educational many of the toys were, especially the vreader which makes it fun to learn to read. It targets ages 3 to 7 and covers vocabulary and reading comprehension as well as more. With fun games that will be sure to make any kid have fun while learning, I love it and give it a mommy thumbs up!

Fall Weddings
I love weddings that takes place in the fall just as much as summer ones but maybe a little more, for one thing it is much more cooler and most scenic areas are lovely and fall themed. we have a wedding to go to soon and we are finding that we can still get some travel deals during this time of year for all of us.
