Earthquake in NY

Everyone knows we are from NY, so we just had an earthquake. This was my first experience and boy was I shaken up. When it was happening, my kids were like "mommy, who is shaking the house"? that is when i realized what was going on, but it happened so fast I barely had time to react. Needless to say everyone was just going crazy, I heard screaming outside and I know people in California are like, psh, that was nothing...but with 2 weeks from the 10 year anniversary of September 11 and living close to the city...it was something!

Digital SLR Cameras

It is time for me to get a new camera, I try to get a new one every couple of years just to keep up with the features. I have a cooking blog and I notice that the pictures are not as clear as I would love them to be and it is of course because of my crappy camera. if you want a nice professional look with awesome features that you can adjust, investing in a slr camera may be just what we all need. I love the cameras that can capture the images as you see it if not clearer.

Picking up after my husband and these kids, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, I don't think I have ever had a big smile on my face...ever. Obviously I have been doing it wrong, I have been wearing house slippers when it should have been heels.

What's for Dinner Mom?

Any good housewife knows that it is wise to have dinner ready by, well dinnertime! When you wake up in the morning, one of the first things you should do is make a plan. What are we going to eat? Breakfast and lunch are easy, sometimes, but dinner can be a challenge. Ladies, dust off that cookbook and start working on dinner, including homemade baked from scratch dessert!

Step out in style while looking simple and chic at the same time, not to mention making the other housewives jealous while grocery shopping. No matter what the whether is like, this is a geat all around classy look.

Are you a Vintage Housewife?
When I think of how life was like when women only lived to be housewives, you know, the Joan Cleavers, etc, were they truly happy? I hardly if ever have a smile on my face when I am doing chores around the house, but they make it seem like the best thing in the world. I want to try to be one of those 50's/vintage housewives, my friend and I were talking about it and laughing, turns out her life is not far from it, but wouldn't it be fun to wake up early hours before anyone else, get dressed, shoes and put on make-up, do chores and have fun doing it? I wonder if I would still feel good at the end of the day? Will I still look pretty and put-together as I did when I started the day?

This year my sister and I decided to fly out and surprise mom over the summer since we’re both teachers and that’s the best time of year for us. It’s going to be so great and we’re staying for three weeks so I’m sure she’ll be sick of us by the time we leave! I wish I could stay longer because Mom’s so much fun but I have to get back to school eventually I guess. I have a Http://Home-Alarm-Systems.COM/ alarm so I’m not really worried about the house and my neighbor said she’d come over once a day to feed the fish anyway. I’ve got to figure out how to pack in such a small bag but other than that I can’t wait for the trip to get here! I know mom is going to be beside herself when we call her from the airport and tell her to come pick us up so I guess we’ll find out how she takes it in just a few short weeks!

10 Minutes and Burn 100 Calories
There is no excuse to why you are not trying to get in shape and burn some calories when all it takes is a few minutes. Doing 10 minutes of regular heart pumping workouts can easiely burn 100 calories or more depending on how much you weigh. 10 minutes on the treadmill, 10 minutes jumping rope, 10 minutes cycling, Walking on the treadmill (at least 4 mph with a 5% incline, martiall arts and so much more. Just set aside a few minutes each day throughout the day and get fit!
